Charged Twice
I went to Ann's Teacher Store in Columbia, MO to look for some home school record keeping software. Instead, we ended up buying $8.39 worth of pencils and pencil toppers for the kids. There were two women working and two customers (myself included) lurking with their kids. When we went to the check out there was no one anywhere in the store to check us out or notice anyone walking around in the store. We waited at the front desk for about 8 minutes and then I wanted to go. I told my kids we would get pencils at target since we were going there next. My 13 year old said "Hold on, I will get someone". She went to the back of the store in a store room and found a lady to check us out!
The sign on the computer at the front check out desk said "orders under $10 must use debit card". We used my debit card (which comes right out of my checking (no hold) and paid $8.39 using my pin number for the card.
I get home to find I was charged twice for the items bought and called the store. They all but called me a liar. I then called my bank and they tried to call the store but no one would answer (even though I just talked to the woman 5 minutes ago). My bank took off the second charge and said to keep checking to make sure this company does not try to charge the account again. If they do, I was advised to dispute again and report them to my local attorney general office. I was also advised and am going to keep my receipt.
I know $8.39 is not a lot but they have no right to charge twice and then act as if their customers a liars. I will NEVER go back their again. - Unsubscribed , posted 06/01/07
